Sometimes, fashion needs to feel like a cosy embrace—like lounging on your sofa at home, wrapped up in your favourite blanket. But that doesn’t mean you should sacrifice style, coolness, or elegance for the sake of comfort.
That’s probably what the creative minds behind Ganni thought. Under the direction of founder and designer Ditte Reffstrup, the Fall-Winter 2025/2026 collection was once again shown in Paris and not in Copenhagen. Typical Scandi chic that effortlessly combines casualness with elegance like almost no other style, was on display. What’s more, a sense of security seemed to be one of the key themes of the show. The patterns echoed the nostalgia of upholstered furniture, with gathered curtain-like elements and shoes resembling comfy slippers.
And even off the runway, the coziness of one’s own four walls seemed to be a theme inspired by Ganni. Numerous visitors to Paris Fashion Week showed up with oversized bags, which were reminiscent of wearable pillows thanks to their loose shape and almost supple feel.
The XXL bags from Ganni, which seem to be omnipresent in Paris at the moment, can be worn over the shoulder, carried in the hand, or styled cross-body. Their soft shape makes them the ideal styling partner for a wide variety of looks, as the bag trend seamlessly complements both romantic, playful outfits and clean, minimalist looks. The lace-up corset details are reminiscent of one of the hottest shoe trends of the moment and also provide an eye-catching feature that breaks up the surface of the bag, preventing it from appearing too bulky despite its size.
Just remember: you shouldn’t overstuff the XXL bag despite its spacious interior. Otherwise shoulder or back pain is inevitable – and there goes all the comfort.
