The 8 Most Eagerly Awaited Series of Summer 2025

What are the most eagerly awaited series of summer 2025? From original creations to sequels to our favourite sagas, Vogue takes a look at the programs to look out for as the summer vacations commence. And there’s something for everyone: from a family drama set in New York’s high society and a searing investigation on the Pacific coast to a romantic comedy set in the heart of London. The Buccaneers, Season 2

With its sugar-pink photography, sumptuous balls and funny debutantes, The Buccaneers immediately reminded us of its twin sister, The Bridgerton Chronicle. Created by showrunner Katherine Jakeways and directed by Susanna White (an expert in period dramas, with a miniseries on the life of Jane Eyre broadcast on the BBC in 2006), the costume drama unfolds the romantic intrigues of these sassy “buccaneers”, played by Kristine Frøseth, Alisha Boe, Josie Totah, Aubri Ibrag and Imogen Waterhouse (Suki Waterhouse’s little sister), who have no use for outdated traditions. In this second season, they’ve matured, become more influential and self-assured. But will this be enough to meet the challenges of their new lives?

Where to watch: Season 2 of The Buccaneers is available from June 18 on Apple TV+.
