Actresses including Salma Hayek, Liz Hurley, Jennifer Lopez and Helen Mirren have been photographed in two-piece suits throughout their 50s, 60s and 70s.
Appearing on I’m A Celebrity South Africa, Myleene Klass, 45, wore a white bikini while 47-year-old Kirsty Gallagher and 51-year-old Amanda Holden were both pictured in bikinis while on holiday.
Demi Moore and Sharon Stone have also posted photos of themselves in vibrant two-pieces on Instagram, while Jane Seymour has publicly spoken about liking her body much more now, while in her 60s than she did in her 20s.
“They’re loud and proud and keen to don the brightest prints to look good by the pool, the beach and in photos they post online,” Ms Quinn said.
The data shows sales of cover-up kaftans have plummeted to under one per cent of all beachwear, while bright patterns and colours including ombre and coral are outselling traditional black and navy costumes.
“Customers are also buying two or three different styles of bikini then “mixing and matching the tops and bottoms for the ultimate fashion impact,” Ms Quinn said.
“It’s savvy spending as its best.”
