Wedding season is well underway, and over on TikTok nobody can seem to reach a consensus on what constitutes an appropriate wedding guest dress. (We here at Vogue even disagree on etiquette.) But over the weekend, Sofia Richie Grainge modelled the perfect black tie wedding look. Whip out your paper and pencils, folks, it’s time to take notes.
Richie Grainge and her husband, Elliot Grainge, left Los Angeles for Monaco for a friend’s wedding. Richie Grainge opted for an azure silk georgette Schiaparelli dress that featured a halter neckline reinforced with a large gold clasp at the neck, off-the-shoulder drapery, an open back, and a romantic train. The bright shade of blue was the perfect celebratory hue—and befitting the seaside reception.

But Richie Grainge upped the ante with her accessorising, adding a pair of black heeled sandals with gold bijoux embellishments similar to the one on her dress. She also adorned herself with statement jewelry—a pair of oversized earrings and a gold Tiffany & Co. bone cuff by Elsa Peretti. And what better way to finish off the look than with a petite Hermès Kelly Cut bag.
While she’s long been hailed the queen of quiet luxury (including when it came to her own Chanel haute couture wedding dress), this vibrant blue dress is a welcome step outside the grayscale. And, as Sofia Richie Grainge seems to know well, what better place than a summer wedding to embrace lively, festive dressing?
