In 2021, a romance blossomed between the children of stars who came to fame in the 1990s.
On New Year’s Day 2022, Frances Bean Cobain — the daughter of rockers Courtney Love and late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain — revealed in an Instagram post that she’d been dating pro skateboarder Riley Hawk, the son of skateboard legend Tony Hawk and his first wife, high school sweetheart Cindy Dunbar. “I wanted to share a few moments that were captured/created this past year that brought me a great amount of joy, Frances captioned a slideshow of images that included shots of Riley, who commented, “Happy new year my love!”
In October 2023, Frances and Riley married in Los Angeles in a wedding officiated by her godfather, R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe.
