With the end of the four-month Sag-Aftra strike comes the return of red carpets and subsequent glamour. Star power was in full force in Los Angeles this week for the premiere of the long-awaited film The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes. For the occasion, Rachel Zegler, who plays the protagonist Lucy Gray Baird, looked to an Arab couturier to make a sartorial statement.
The 22-year-old walked the red carpet in a beautiful creation by Lebanese designer Elie Saab, picked from the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 couture collection, which quickly took the internet by storm. The ultra-feminine number came in a sand-hued chiffon, with thin straps, a corseted top, and delicate golden-bronze embroidery. However, the highlight of the floor-grazing gown was a wispy hood that extended from the bodice and covered part of Zegler’s hair, giving her outfit an air of royalty. The actor’s stylist Sarah Slutsky paired the floaty dress with minimal jewelry including earrings and rings from Tiffany & Co., and footwear from Jimmy Choo. As for Zegler’s glam, the star wore her hair down on one side in big, elegant waves, while her makeup complemented the neutral hues of her dress with a soft brown look complete with winged liner, bronzed skin, and a nude lip.
Zegler’s recent red carpet appearances at the movie’s premieres have also been loved for their references to the series. The film, which hits cinemas in the Middle East on November 17, is a prequel to the hit trilogy The Hunger Games starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth.
