Alliance Symphony Orchestra concert next Sunday
ALLIANCE – The Alliance Symphony Orchestra will present its fall concert at 3 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Brush Performance Hall of the Giese Center for the Performing Arts, 67 W. Simpson St.
The concert, titled “Le Tour de France,” will include works by French composers Jean-Joseph Mouret, Gabriel Fauré and Paul Dukas, as well as George Gershwin’s famous “An American in Paris.”
Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors/veterans and free for all students. Student and child tickets must be ordered by phone or in person prior to the day of the show. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are available at mountunion.edu/boxoffice or through the Mount Union box office at 330-821-2565. Box office hours are from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday when classes are in session. The box office will also open for ticket sales one hour before the performance.
StarkFresh Celebrity Chef Showdown is Thursday
ALLIANCE – StarkFresh will hold a Celebrity Chef Showdown at 6 p.m. Thursday inside the Alliance Commons, 405 S. Linden Ave.
James Moore, executive chef and owner at Blue Smoke; Demond Germany, owner of Scratch Steakhouse & Lounge; and Michael Jarzenski, executive chef of Feel Good BBG & Melange, will compete against each other in a live culinary cook-off fundraiser.
The event will raise funds for an EBT match program at the StarkFresh grocery stores in Canton and Alliance. The match allows EBT/SNAP card users to receive a discount on shopping orders of up to $10 per visit. StarkFresh’s first store opened in 2020 in downtown Canton, and the second location opened Oct. 9 in Alliance.
Tickets are $125 per person or $200 per couple, and all tickets include heavy hors d’oeuvres and two free drink tickets at the cash bar. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.starkfresh.org
