Red, black, and other bold colors have long been a red carpet favorite. However, for Meghan Markle making a rare appearance, even a beige dress can become a stand-out moment. Late last week, the Duchess of Sussex attended Variety‘s Power of Women event in Los Angeles wearing an understated and sleek number.
Her look for the special evening—which saw her being honored with an award—consisted of a beige Proenza Schouler dress. The full-length gown came with an off-the-shoulder neckline and slits at the side, and Markle paired it with black Aquazzura slingback pumps and a classic leather clutch bag. For accessories, she looked to a single Cartier Love bracelet, few rings, and small gold earrings, while styling her hair in her signature slicked bun with a middle parting.
Speaking to E! News on the red carpet, Markle also gave a rare insight into the holiday traditions with her husband Prince Harry, and their two children, four-year-old Archie and two-year-old Lilibet. “We’re creating new ones now that our little ones are growing up,” she explained. “And we’re enjoying every moment of it. I love trimming and decorating the tree with my children.”
When asked about the couple’s upcoming projects, Markle shared that they will be focusing on positive content, and that there’s a lot more to come. “Things that make people feel—I was going to say good—but it’s more than that,” she said. “Things that make people feel something. And feel a sense of community. We have so many exciting things on the slate…I can’t wait until we can announce them. Just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun.”
