Since slipping out of the fabulously tall and pink heels from the much-loved Barbie movie, Margot Robbie has taken her footwear choices in a whole new direction. Over the last week alone, the Australian star was spotted in two distinctly fun pairs of shoes as part of her casual, off-duty wardrobe.
While the shoes may be more Gen Z TikToker and less Academy Award nominee, one can’t blame Robbie for taking them out for a spin while on vacation, given that they exude comfort. The actor was first photographed at Perth’s Cottlestoe Beach wearing Givenchy’s white rubber “Marshmallow” platform slip-ons. As its name suggests, the shoes feature a clunky and sporty silhouette, which Robbie balanced with the rest of her minimal outfit, consisting of a white button-down shirt dress, a chained bag, and black sunglasses.
Later in Perth, Robbie sported more unexpected footwear. This time, a pair of neon yellow platform Crocs, which may have just offered enough validation for everyone who loves the divisive shoes. Robbie styled the playful pieces with an equally relaxed yet polished look, which included a black cropped T-shirt from Anna Sui, with a graphic of a pink-haired girl and a dog. Black tailored high-waisted trousers, a matching patent leather bag from Prada, and rectangular sunglasses completed her outfit of the day.
Another pair of shoes that have the approval of real-world Barbie? A pair of pale pink Birkenstocks, which Robbie was spotted in earlier this year.
