We’ve all grown accustomed to Jennifer Lopez’s fashion. From her figure-hugging gowns to her perilously high platform heels – not to mention the designer handbags with eye-popping price tags – her look has become familiar over the course of her 20-plus years in the spotlight. However, her most recent appearance showcased how her personal style does leave room for versatility. It was less Jenny From The Block, more LA-based “rich mom”.
For a lunch outing in Beverly Hills, Lopez dressed accordingly in a classic, ladylike outfit that represented a departure from her usual outré style. She wore a camel button-up shirt midi dress, which featured a nipped waist and a tiered A-line skirt. The star completed her look with black patent leather ballet pumps, but brought it all back to more familiar territory with a black Hermès Birkin bag adorned with gold hardware.
This year, flat shoes have become a celebrity essential, for daytime but also after-dark, with unexpected fans like Kylie Jenner and Margot Robbie forgoing heels even on the red carpet. Clearly Lopez agrees that comfortable footwear can still be chic.
