Her Royal Highness Princess Reema bint Bandar Al-Saud, who was appointed as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States of America by King Salman bin Abdelaziz in July 2019, was the first woman to ever serve in the role. At the time of her appointment, President Trump held the office during his first term, and now six years later, he has returned to office as the 47th president of the Untied States of America.
Yesterday, his inauguration took place in the US Capitol in Washington, where US politicians, world leaders and even tech giants Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Tim Cook were in attendance. Amongst the crowd was HRH Princess Reema bint Bandar Al-Saud, representing Saudi Arabia. The ambassador took to her personal Instagram to share a few photos from the inauguration, including a photo with President Donald Trump.
“As our two nations celebrate 80 years of friendship, it was my honour to convey our leadership’s heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to President Donald Trump and the American people on his inauguration,” she captioned the post. “The relationship between our two countries is historic and we look forward to continuing our work together for the benefit of both our peoples, our region, and the world.”
