Dua Lipa has concluded her seemingly never-ending vacation as she gears up to return with new music. Her new single ‘Houdini’ comes out today, November 9, and one lucky fan in London has already had the chance to listen to it ahead of its global release. For the special occasion earlier this week, Lipa headed to the BBC headquarters herself to play the track for the fan on her phone.
The chilly day offered a first look at the singer’s new aesthetic, which includes a winter-appropriate dye job in a deep red hue, as well as statement layering. Ditching this summer’s Barbie-inspired metallic and feminine mini dresses, Lipa’s outfit bordered on an edgier, and slightly masculine vibe. She paired a vintage blue football polo tucked into black jeans and topped with a leather trench, while gold jewelry, Versace stiletto boots, and a Birkin completed her look.
For her appointment at London’s Global Radio Studios the next day, the 28-year-old served up more demure dressing inspiration, this time, in a color-coordinated look. The pop star was photographed in a voluminous fuzzy white coat with a black t-shirt and blue baggy denim, but the highlight of her outfit was her oxblood boots and crimson tote bag matching her new hair.
‘Houdini’ is set to kickstart a new musical era including a third album by the Grammy-nominated artist, since her last album Future Nostalgia came out in 2020. Since then, Lipa has featured on the official Barbie movie soundtrack with the song ‘Dance the Night,’ as well as the single ‘Sweetest Pie’ in collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion.
