Blackpink’s Jennie Lights Up the Met Gala 2025 in a Chanel Look That Took 330 Hours to Create

After co-starring with Dua Lipa for the new Chanel 25 bag’s campaign, brand ambassador and member of the Blackpink group, Jennie, is once again making her mark at the Met Gala 2025. We thought the brand had already outdone itself with its 2026 resort show in the enchanting setting of Lake Como on April 29, yet for this very special event, Chanel takes it up a notch, revealing the full creative talent of its atelier with a design that emphasizes the poetry of the Chanel universe.

This year’s dress code, “Tailored for You,” which accompanies the Costume Exhibit’s spring exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” offers the maison an excellent opportunity to demonstrate its savoir-faire. For her look, Jennie wore an off-the-shoulder black satin jumpsuit adorned with pearl cabochons, two strands of pearls, and a white silk camellia with bejeweled buttons. A black satin overskirt lined with white taffeta brought dramatic flair to this elegant look.

Topping off her look in a two-tone hat and matching Chanel pumps, Jennie’s style was directly inspired by Coco Chanel and her designs from the 1920s-1930s. With this look sported by the K-pop star, Chanel doesn’t just follow the theme, it transcends it, reinterpreting the classic men’s suit and infusing it with its signature contemporary elegance and feminine spirit, underscoring the house’s immaculate craftsmanship with a look that took over 330 hours to make.
