Tina Knowles went full mama bear after critics attacked her superstar daughter Beyoncé‘s latest look.
For those who missed it, the “Crazy in Love” artist was accused of trying to look paler after debuting a platinum blonde hair transformation and an all-silver ensemble at the Los Angeles premiere for the Renaissance World Tour film.
Upon seeing the unwarranted criticism, Knowles, 69, was quick to speak out in defense of her daughter. Alongside a video tribute, which played Beyoncé’s hit “BROWN SKIN GIRL” in the background, Knowles wrote, “Came across this today and decided to post it after seeing all of the stupid ignorant self-hating racist statements about her, lightening her skin, and wearing platinum hair wanting to be white.”
Knowles explained that her daughter’s “whole theme” for the world tour “is silver,” which is why the music legend donned “silver hair” at a “silver carpet” and “suggested silver attire.”
Knowles continued, “You bozos decide that she’s trying to be a white woman and is bleaching her skin? How sad is it that some of her own people continue the stupid narrative with hate and jealousy.”
As Beyoncé’s mother continued, she called out those who continued the negative narrative, claiming that one media outlet tried to get a comment from her daughter’s hairstylist.
“Well that made my blood boil,” she added.
The mother of two then further defended Beyoncé’s look by reminding her followers of other famous Black celebrities who’ve donned platinum hair. “Black women have worn platinum hair since the Etta James days,” she noted. “I just went and looked at all the beautiful talented Black celebrities who have worn platinum hair and it has been just about everyone of them at one time or another.
