Paris Couture Week Spring 2024 is in full swing, attracting a slew of style stars from the Arab world and beyond to the City of Lights.
As the Paris Couture Week shows kicked off on Monday with a buzz-worthy presentation by Schiaparelli, spotted on the front row were big names like Jennifer Lopez and Zendaya, and from the region: Emirati singer Balqees Fathi, Jordanian-Romanian accessories designer Amina Muaddi, and Saudi entrepreneur Nojoud Alrumaihi. While Fathi opted for a black Schiaparelli gown with the house’s signature facial details on the bodice, Muaddi sported a brown coat dress with white patterns, and Alrumaihi wore a pale yellow strapless dress paired with a chunky gold necklace from the brand. At Dior, Lebanese actor Razane Jammal made her first attendance as the brand’s beauty ambassador for the Middle East, dressed in a white shirt and a sheer lace skirt topped off with a long black coat.
Day One continued with a number of showcases by Arab designers, including Lebanon’s Georges Hobeika and Tony Ward Couture, Morocco’s Maison Sara Chraibi, and Syria’s Rami Al Ali. Former Vogue Arabia cover stars Myriem Boukadida and Farnoush Hamidian were spotted at the Maison Sara Chraibi show, with Boukadida favoring a black and gold caped gown, and Hamidian a sculptural embellished number. At Georges Hobeika, saturated hues reigned supreme, as Deema Al Asadi stepped out in a bright green sequined jacket over a dress in a muted hue, and Lama Alakeel paired a cream dress with a light green coat.
