While some are busy contemplating Dry January and new year fitness trends, those of us with more sartorial inclinations are looking ahead to 2024’s key new fashion trends. Layers have been fun, but having to dress practically doesn’t always leave a lot of room for creativity and personal expression. Which is why we’re spending the next few weeks manifesting an early spring, and, with it, a particularly strong spring wardrobe. Here are the key spring 2024 trends to know about for the new season.
Masculine-meets-feminine dressing
At the back end of last year there’s no denying that skirts seemingly replaced trousers as the everyday go-to, but while denim midis undoubtedly reigned supreme for AW23, it seems that for SS24 the skirt is having something of an hyper-feminine update. Think ultra mini, super sheer or flowing an elegant, this skirt is an integral part of an overall aesthetic trend which will be huge come spring; Masc/Fem Dressing. Crucially, the pairing piece for these skirts is no longer a cute cropped cardigan or slinky vest. Instead, think oversized shirts, menswear sweaters, bulky blazers… Sometimes even all three.
Business casual
For those struggling with their officewear look right now, why not get in on one of the biggest spring 2024 trends a little early this year? A relatively simple one to get your head around, SS24’s workwear look is all about relaxed tailoring – and we don’t just mean a skirt that you can actually breathe in. This business casual is taking things to the extreme, with super oversized suiting, blazers that fall to the top of your thigh, and maybe even an elasticated waist. Pair it with a slim fit blouse or skinny knit to play with proportions.
High-rise trousers
Low-slung waists have been all over trend…
