Rarely a day goes by when an A-lister isn’t spotted in a status trainer, from Adidas Sambas to Salomon’s popular XT-6 model. Perhaps the biggest statement of them all, though? The eco trainer, which proves that sneakers can not only be stylish but have sustainability credentials, too.

EmRata has been spotted in Adidas by Stella McCartney’s Ultraboost sneakers, which she’s styled with everything from slouchy suiting to jeans and sweatpants in recent years. The running shoes are made from Parley for the Oceans’s recycled plastic, which helps tackle plastic pollution in the world’s oceans, while the Solaridge design also contains recycled materials.
The Duchess of Sussex
When Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, debuted her Veja V-10s during an official tour of Sydney in 2018, it led to a surge in interest in the French trainer brand. Made from responsibly-sourced leather and rubber, Veja’s trainers – which have recently been seen on the Princess of Wales, too – also come in a vegan style, created using organic cotton and corn waste.
