BTS
Millions of albums sold, sold-out concerts and a band of fans dubbed the ARMYs… BTS has established itself as the most powerful K-pop group since its inception in 2013. However, the year 2022 marked a turning point for the group, some of whose members had to perform their military service, which is compulsory for South Korean men.
Singer and dancer J-Hope spoke to K-pop media outlet Weverse Magazine about the group’s probable return in 2025. In particular, he revealed a number of tidbits about a potential return for the collective (and perhaps even a world tour in 2026): “I want to come back in style and say, ‘This is us. This is BTS’. I can’t speak for everyone, but I can tell you that the other members feel the same way. What hasn’t changed is that I really, really like doing it.” After 18 months of military service for Jin and J-Hope, the clan is back together.
Kiss of Life
As Rudy Jean-Baptiste explains. “They produce and compose their own songs, which is rare enough in k-pop to be worth mentioning!” Introduced in 2023, the group is made up of four members: Julie, Natty, Belle and Haneul. Their musical identity floats between rap and R’n’B (their influences lie somewhere between Blackpink, Ariana Grande and SZA). Like MEOVV, they’re not newcomers: Belle has already written and composed for the SM Entertainment label, while Natty has already appeared on several TV talent shows before releasing her first solo album, Nineteen.
