Footballing royalty brought their best suits, ties, dresses and designer brands to the Parisian red carpet on Monday evening at the Ballon d’Or awards ceremony.
The annual awards recognises the best footballing talents in the world, with Lionel Messi widely expected to pick up his eighth individual title as the best’ men’s performer.
Premier League stars, A-list celebrities, You Tube sensations and former players and managers are in attendance at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris and there are plenty of eager supporters waiting to catch a glimpse.
Messi who once fashioned a bizarre dazzling tuxedo decided to keep his look more low-key on an evening where he is expected to pick up another individual award and most likely final Ballon d’Or of his career.
The Argentinian showcased a suave black tuxedo while he was joined by his family as they returned to Paris where he formerly played for PSG.
