Inside Cartier’s Celebration at the 80th Venice International Film Festival

When it comes to Cartier‘s involvement at the Venice International Film Festival, one would be remiss to think that it begins and ends simply with celebrities walking the red carpet in its brilliant creations. While the jewelry and watches capture attention and hearts at first glance, the French house’s relationship with the prestigious festival runs deeper, given that Cartier has been partnering with the Mostra since 2021.

In its continued support for contemporary filmmaking and nurturing talent, this year saw Cartier host a star-studded celebration during the 80th edition of the festival. The occasion brought together renowned names from the global entertainment industry and Cartier ambassadors, including actors Paul Mescal, and Emma Corrin, and from the region, Lebanese director Nadine Labaki, and Tunisian star Dhafer L’Abidine. Also in attendance were Isabelle Huppert, Luca Guadagnino, and Maude Apatow, with each one adorning their looks in a number of coveted Cartier pieces.

This extensive partnership also involves two masterclasses hosted by Academy Award-winning musical partnership of director Damien Chazelle and composer Justin Hurwit, and multiple winners of the Academy Award for Art Direction. What’s more, Cartier will also be supporting the restoration and renovation of two iconic Venice venues, the Teatro Verde and Conservatorio Di Musica Benedetto Marcello. The collaboration recognizes outstanding filmmakers as well, with the Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award, which was received by Wes Anderson this year.
