See Katie Holmes Embrace Minimalist Luxury in Baggy Chanel Jeans

Katie Holmes just applied her effortlessly chic style to a timeless brand.

Yesterday, the Dawson’s Creek alum attended the Chanel Tribeca Festival Women’s Lunch in NYC yesterday, where she wore a casual spin on the head-to-toe Chanel look. In keeping with her laid-back street style, Holmes paired a white t-shirt with a pair of loose-fitting light-wash jeans, which were printed with faint white polka-dots and the fashion house’s double CC logo.

She topped off the look with a navy knit jacket with black and silver hardware, adding quilted black ballet flats adorned with the CC logo, a black quilted crossbody bag, layered gold necklaces, and a single dangling statement earring. Her dark-brown hair was styled in soft waves, and she wore a glossy, berry-toned lip.

Jeans are a staple for the Rare Objects director, who styles the basics with both relaxed monochromatic ensembles and eye-catching accessories. Last week, she was spotted out and about in the city, wearing a boxy white tee, straight-leg jeans with a vintage finish, and black Adidas Samba sneakers. She further accessorized with a Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition bag in hot pink, orange, and maroon, as well as chunky gray Prada Symbole sunglasses and her nose ring.

Holmes spoke to Bazaar.com last year about her approach to dressing. “We live in a world where we have a premiere and you want to look nice, and it turns into being a fashion person, and I’m like, ‘Well, I just like to look nice, I’m not really a fashion person.’ We all just want to look good,” she said, adding that when she’s off duty, she keeps it very casual. “I love my T-shirts, and I love my vintage T-shirts. They’re so yummy. They’re a little dirty, a little stained or whatever, and that’s me.”
