Anne Hathaway channeled Andy Sachs—post-fashion makeover—at the Berlin International Film Festival today.
The actress debuted two chic all-black looks in less than 24 hours during her first day in Germany, initially stepping out in a sleek day-to-night look and, later, changing into a red-carpet gown.
The first look, a long-sleeved dress from Alaïa’s spring/summer 2023 ready-to-wear collection, went down to her ankles and featured a plunging neckline and ruched leather detailing at the waist. She paired it with sheer black tights and matching black sandals with gold heels shaped like women’s legs. She accessorized simply with gold rings and opted for minimal glam: a silky blowout, natural rosy makeup, and a raspberry lip.
She wore the outfit to attend a She Came to Me photo-call at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin.
Hathaway’s second look brought all the glamour. For an appearance at the grand opening of Berlinale, the actress was striking in a see-through black gown made up of leather knots and sheer polka-dotted lace, pulled straight from the Valentino Couture spring/summer 2023 runway. She put a rocker spin on the sophisticated look with a pair of leather opera gloves and finished the look with silky black pointed-toe pumps with tiny bows on the backs.
For glam, she opted for a version of her iconic The Devils Wears Prada hairdo: a top bun with blown-out bangs and wavy strands framing her face. She wore natural rosy makeup and inky black eyeliner.
She Came to Me premiered today, February 16, during the first day of the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival. The romantic comedy, written and directed by Rebecca Miller, stars Hathaway alongside Tahar Rahim, Marisa Tomei, and Joanna Kuli.
The film festival ends on February 26.
