Beyond its exhibitions, Art Dubai continues to foster dialogue and critical discourse through its flagship conferences. The Global Art Forum, curated by Y7 and commissioned by cultural thinker Shumon Basar, will explore ‘The New New Normal,’ reflecting on the shifting paradigms of the contemporary world. Meanwhile, the second edition of the Digital Summit, titled ‘After the Technological Sublime,’ will examine the evolving relationship between creativity and digital innovation.
This year’s fair will feature more than 120 galleries, with dedicated sections curated by internationally recognised experts. Art Dubai Modern, curated by Magalí Arriola and Nada Shabout, will showcase museum-quality works from the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. Art Dubai Digital, led by Gonzalo Herrero Delicado, will explore the rapidly expanding realm of digital and NFT art, while Bawwaba, curated by Mirjam Varadinis, will serve as a portal to emerging artistic practices from the Global South.
Pablo del Val, Art Dubai’s Artistic Director, emphasised the fair’s dual role as both a commercial art platform and a key contributor to the local cultural ecosystem. He noted that Art Dubai has been a catalyst for cultural exchange and artistic innovation for nearly two decades. This year’s programming reflects the fair’s long-term commitment to working with local institutions, businesses, and the government to create new opportunities for artists while reinforcing Dubai’s status as a center of innovation and thought leadership. By convening some of the brightest minds and fostering a dynamic dialogue that brings together diverse creative communities, Art Dubai continues to be a powerful force in the region’s cultural development.
