Inside the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 El Gouna Film Festival

The 2024 edition of the El Gouna Film Festival was a star-studded affair per usual, bringing together the MENA film industry’s finest talents under one roof.

At last night’s opening ceremony of the 2024 El Gouna Film Festival, the region’s most illustrious names walked the red carpet in their sartorial best. In attendance were stars like Youssra, Dorra Zarrouk, Lebleba, Hend Sabri, Tara Emad, Nelly Karim, Menna Shalaby, Amina Khalil, Rakeen Saad, Passant Shawky, and many more. Opting for jewel tones, Youssra wore a deep blue Tony Ward Couture gown, while Zarrouk went for a romantic strapless maroon couture gown by Rami Kadi. The silhouette was also favored by Sabri, who dazzled in a silver Soha Murad number, and by Khalil who made a case for duo-tones in a beige and black Mrs Keepa dress.

The 2024 El Gouna Film Festival will run until November 1, showcasing 83 films from 48 countries, including feature films, documentaries, and short films. Hosted by Basma and Sedky Sakhr, the opening ceremony saw the screening of the short film The Origin of the Story, and performances by Mohamed El-Sharnouby, Nouran Abu Taleb, and Hana Youssry.
