Q: What does it mean to you to be a Latina working in the travel industry?
A: For me, I now have the opportunity to show vacations to my children. I have different families going to different cities and they are really good vacations. If you’re not a citizen of these countries and you have a passport, it’s easier to book a trip to Dubai, for example, and go on a vacation there. It just depends on what you need in that moment.
Q: What is one of your most popular trips?
A: Dubai. The Dubai trip is all inclusive. It includes the hotel, the activities, all meals, flights and transportation. You can get on a payment plan with the final payment due 45 days after you return from Dubai.
Q: What is one of your favorite travel experiences?
A: Turkey! From the different activities, it was so good! I went to Cleopatra’s Pool [at the Pamukkale Hot Springs] and the House of The Virgin Mary. In Turkey, the culture is just different, especially all of the different towers. And for me, I was most surprised by the fact that people were talking more in Spanish than in English. Since I’m from the Dominican Republic, I felt like it was like being in the same place.
Q: What keeps you motivated and inspired?
A: The fact that this is for everybody! Traveling is what everyone needs to relax. It makes you look at life differently. I don’t always have the opportunity, but I love helping people by using my vision to create a trip for other people. Each person is different. It gives them a chance to think differently in different situations so that they have the opportunity to relax.
Q: What helps you to relax?
A: For me, relaxing is all of the planning. I love checking all of the different countries and starting to organize the trips. For example, next year, there’s a trip going to five different countries, like Bulgaria, Madrid, Turkey again and more. And I’m even more excited about 2025 because we’ll have trips to Japan and Korea. For me, that’s relaxing. I just like it.
