Ever wondered what a stylist counts among their most cherished fashion belongings? As someone who works with an abundance of remarkable clothing and jewelry daily, Jennifer Kolomoni’s style superstars are significant, to say the least. In the second season of ‘My Style Superstars’, Kolomoni, whose portfolio includes editorials from esteemed publications including Vogue Arabia, sits down to share the special stories behind four of her wardrobe’s treasures.
Picking up a pair of asymmetrical heels, the stylist says, “I was in love with these shoes when they first came out but obviously, it wasn’t in my budget. Then I found them years later on The Luxury Closet. They’re Christian Dior by Raf Simons, and they’re important to me because Raf Simons is from Belgium and I’m also from Belgium.” Also among Kolomoni’s style superstars is an oversized, statement bag made out of palm leaves. “I found it while traveling; I fell in love with it. I asked about it, and they told me it’s a women cooperative that makes them by hand,” she says of the piece. “I was like, I want to support this and I asked them to make them bigger, and I bought a bunch. Now, I’m starting a business called Tozamayi and it is B Corp—the idea is to support communities who handcraft items. It’s a project that’s close to my heart. It’s Africa, it’s me, and that’s why I love it.”
